Presentation of Central University : Private University in Tunisia
Central University is a private institution of higher education approved by the Ministry of Higher Education . The programs that it offers cover all the university cycles and are totally in accordance with the LMD standard (License degree, Master’s degree, Doctorate)
It has just been restructured in four high schools which are presented below :

Private Central School of Medical Sciences and Health Ten sectors of training in the health field leading to degrees of Applied Licenses (Bachelor’s degrees) :
Optics and Spectacle Trade, Physiotherapy, Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Nursing Practice, Surgical Unit, Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy, Obstetrics, Prosthodontics, Orthophony, Nutrition. |
Polytechnic Private Central School of Tunis :
LMD (License, Master, Doctorate) programs, preparatory cycles in the studies of engineers as well as cycles of engineers in the following fields :
Information System engineering, Electrical engineering, Civil engineering, Electro-mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering, Business engineering. |
 Private Central School of Law and Management :
-Programs in Law tending to prepare students for the judicial and juridical jobs :
( Private Law, Public Law, Business Law)
-Diverse Programs in Management to train the future company managers such as :
( Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, International Trade) |
 Private Central School of Literature, Arts and Communication Sciences :
LMD programs in Literaure, Languages and Civilization (English, French, Spanish, German), Journalism and Communication, Arts, Design (Space, Image), Multimedia.

Infact, this new restructuring comes to replace a former structure that used to contain four institutes, four schools and a faculty :
- Preparatory Institute of the studies of Engineers
- Engineers’ College
- Higher Institute of Computing
- Higher Institute of Languages
- Higher Institute of Management
- Faculty of Law
- College of Health
- College of Art and Communication
- Doctoral School
With regard to Diplomas, the academic year 2010/2011 will be the last year during which the studies leading to the diploma of Bachelor’s degree will be exempted. Indeed, since two years the effectual LMD (License, Master, Doctorate) System has replaced the former one which resulted in the Master’s degree.
The degrees of Engineers and 1st level Degree courses sanctioning the preparatory studies in Engineering schools will be introduced to the Polytechnic Private Central School of Tunis, in which will also be prepared degrees of Applied License and Fundamental License, as well as Master’s degrees in the technical and technological fields :
Computing engineering, telecommunications engineering, electric engineering, electromecanic engineering and civil engineering.
What is more Business engineer’s new program will likely be proposed within the framework of this school in association with the Private Central School of Law and Management (Central LM)
The Polytechnic Private Central School of Tunis will also cooperate with the Private Central School of Medical Sciences and Health within the context of an entitled Master’s degree in engineering of information systems in Health. Finally, it will collaborate as well with the Private Central School of Literature, Arts and Communication Sciences for the setting up of a new professional master oriented web and Multimedia.
Four new high schools stemming from the Central University will continue to develop narrow relations of cooperation with universities, schools, faculties and private and public institutes not only in Tunisia but also on an International stage.
By International we naturally mean the institutions of the western world in addition to those who are closer to us by the common history of our countries or by the geographical membership ( the Arabic World, the francophony, Africa, the Mediterranean Sea).
Infact, several agreements have already been signed or are in the course of elaboration with prestigious universities or high schools in France, in Italy, in Spain (for the Mediterranean region), in Lebanon, in Syria, in Jordan, in Algeria and in Morocco (for the Arabic world), in Senegal, in Ivory Coast, in Cameroon, in Congo, in Nigeria and in South Africa (for Africa), in Canada, in the United States of America and in Brazil (for the American continent) and in Australia.
